Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao, popularly known as KTR, encountered a precarious moment during the ongoing campaign for the November 30 polls. A video surfaced capturing the pink-coloured campaign bus navigating a narrow lane with Telangana leaders standing atop. The bus abruptly braked, causing a near-fall for KTR, who was flanked by Jeevan Reddy and Suresh Reddy.
The footage depicts KTR and other leaders clustered on a small platform erected above the bus, gripping the railing as the vehicle manoeuvred through the confined alley. Men in white T-shirts and camouflage trousers ran alongside the bus, holding a rope on either side. A security personnel cleared the path in front of the bus. However, a sudden halt led to the leaders tumbling over, with KTR narrowly saved by an alert securityman, while his colleagues suffered minor bruises.
Despite the incident, Minister KTR, also the BRS working president, continued with the campaign and departed for the Kodangal region.
Telangana is gearing up for a triangular contest in the upcoming polls, involving the BRS, Congress, and BJP. In the previous Assembly elections in 2018, the BRS secured a significant victory, claiming 88 out of 119 seats and capturing 47.4% of the total vote share. The Congress trailed behind with 19 seats and a 28.7% vote share.
