The Congress party has already announced its six guarantees for the Telangana elections, encompassing assurances for the state's farmers, poor families, and students.
Telangana Assembly Elections: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge released the party’s manifesto for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections at Gandhi Bhavan today (November 17). Congress party's manifesto includes six guarantees and various declarations for Telangana, including Rs 4,000 old age pension and LPG at Rs 500.

What are some of the promises?
- The manifesto, titled 'Abhaya Hastham', includes the promise of Rs 2,500 per month and gas cylinders at Rs 500 for women, as well as 200 units of free electricity for all households, if the party comes to power in the state after the November 30 polls.
- It said that free internet through Wi-Fi facilities will be provided to all students. The manifesto also promised that a judicial inquiry will be conducted by a sitting high court judge into all irregularities and corruption in the construction of the Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation Project.
- The party also promised to scrap Dharani, an integrated land administration portal and replace it with a new revenue system.
- The Congress, if voted to power, will waive off crop loans of Rs two lakh at once, the poll document added.
- The party has also promised to provide financial assistance of Rs 12,000 per year to every auto rickshaw driver, besides offering 50 per cent discount on pending traffic challans through a one-time settlement scheme.
- The manifesto promises a caste survey within six months of forming the government and fair reservation for all backward classes, including minorities, in government jobs, educational institutions, and welfare schemes.
- The party also said it would increase the annual welfare budget for minorities to Rs 4,000 crore and introduce a dedicated minorities sub-plan to ensure optimal budget allocation and utilisation.
Here are six guarantees already announced by Congress
- Mahalakshmi scheme: Women will get 2,500 every month, LPG cylinder for Rs 500 and free bus travel on RTC buses.
- Rythu Bharosa scheme: Farmers and lease holders will get Rs 15,000 while farm labourers will get Rs 12,000 per year. A bonus of Rs 500 per quintal will be given on paddy.
- Grih Jyoti scheme: 200-unit electricity will be provided free.
- Indira Amma Indloo scheme: Free land and aid of Rs 5 lakh will be given for the construction of houses.
- Yuva Vikasam: Students will be given assistance of Rs 5 lakh and International Schools will be opened in every district of Telangana.
- Cheyutha scheme: Senior citizens will be given a pension of Rs 4,000 and under Rajya Arogyashri, they will be provided health insurance up to Rs 10 lakh.
Telangana Assembly Elections date
Telangana Legislative Assembly, 119 members, will go to polls on November 30 and the counting of votes will take place on December 3. Telangana is set to witness an intriguing triangular contest between the BRS, Congress, and BJP.
In the Telangana Assembly Election Results of 2018, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) secured a resounding victory with 88 seats out of the total 119, comfortably surpassing the majority mark of 60. The Congress managed to secure 19 seats, while the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) won 7 seats. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) secured 2 seats, the BJP won 1 seat, and the All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) secured 1 seat. Additionally, there was one independent candidate who won a seat.
