Telangana Assembly Election: In a shocking incident, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy was stabbed during the poll campaign in Telangana on Monday. He was attcked by an unidentifed person during the campaigning at Surampalli village of Daulatabad mandal in Siddipet district.
Following the incident, the BRS MP was taken to a hospital in Gajwel where he was given first aid. The doctor said that his condition was stable, however, he was referred to a hospital in Secunderabad for further treatment. Notably, Kotha is an MP from Medak constituency in Telangana.
Reacting to the stabbing incident, CM KCR said everyone should unequivocally condemn this kind of action.
The incident took place in Doulthabad mandal when Prabhakar Reddy, who has been fielded by BRS from Dubbak for the November 30 assembly elections, was campaigning, the police official said.
TV footage showed Prabhakar Reddy pressing the stab wound on his stomach (to stop the bleeding) while sitting in a vehicle.

The man who allegedly stabbed the MP was "beaten up" by some locals.
"The assailant has been taken into custody. We are verifying his details," Siddipet Commissioner of Police N Swetha said.
After the incident, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan directed the state DGP to ensure the safety of election contestants.
Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao met BRS MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy at Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad this evening. The MP was stabbed in his stomach by an unidentified person during his campaign in Siddipet earlier today.
