Elon Musk bought Twitter in late 2022. Since then, the platform has undergone many changes. A year ago, Musk announced a rebranding of the platform but, until now, most of its pages and offering used Twitter in their URL. Musk on Friday announced that the platform has done moving all its core systems on X.com. This means that the platform has removed all the traces of the name Twitter and its blue bird logo.
The website has updated its landing and log-in pages. At the bottom of the pages, there is a note that says: "Welcome to x.com! We are letting you know that we are changing our URL, but your privacy and data protection settings remain the same." The note also includes a link to the Privacy page, which now uses x.com in its address.
How the platform has changed?
In the last 10 months, the company has undertaken many steps to shed its pre-Elon Musk identity. Some of the changes include migration of official X (formerly Twitter) handle from @Twitter to @X, replacement of Twitter logo on its headquarter building with that of the X logo, Tweetdeck rebranded as XPro, and Twitter Blue as X Premium. The company also gradually transitioned its pages to x.com.
In its transition to X from the Twitter name, the platform also faced some issues. For instance, when its website changed its favicons, it triggered security safeguards from some browsers.
Meanwhile, after taking over the platform, Musk introduced long-form articles, full-length videos, monetization programs, and many more new features. Now, the billionaire has announced that subscribed users can post movies, TV series, or podcasts on the platform and earn money through monetization. Musk made the comment while replying to his sister Tosca Musk, who co-founded the streaming service Passionflix. The tech billionaire said that users can now post their full-length movies on X.
