WhatsApp is now working on a new feature. The upcoming feature will further enhance voice notes on the instant messaging platform. Although the platform is already working on a feature to transcribe voice notes to text, the under-testing features further add new capabilities to this feature. Here are all the details you need to know.

As per WEBetaInfo, the under-development feature will enhance accessibility and convenience for those who prefer reading text over listening to voice messages. The platform is further refining the voice transcription feature by adding an option to change their language. The feature is under development and is available on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.13.8 update from the Google Play Store. As the feature is under development, it is not available to beta testers.

According to the screenshot shared by WEBetaInfo, WhatsApp is planning to add a new feature that will allow users to select a language for voice transcripts. This new section will enable users to choose from languages like English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Hindi, with the possibility of more languages being added later on. Once a language is selected, a package will be downloaded to enable the transcription process.

The new voice transcript feature offers significant benefits to user experience by improving accessibility for those who speak different languages. This ensures that users can read and understand voice notes in their preferred language, and also enhances transcription accuracy using language-specific speech recognition.

Users will also have the flexibility to choose a different language for specific voice notes when needed. To use this feature, users will need to download a language-specific package, allowing for local processing of transcripts on the device while maintaining end-to-end encryption to keep data secure and internal.
