Tecno, a consumer tech brand is reportedly working on a new foldable smartphone which is a successor to the Phantom V Flip foldable phone which was launched in September, last year. The upcoming device is expected to be named Phantom V2 Flip and as per the leaks, it is said that the device will arrive this year (timeline unspecified) with some major upgrades.
Phantom V2 Flip: Expectations
Design
As per the FCC filing, it was revealed as the potential design which overhauls the Phantom V2 Flip. The V2 Flip smartphone is expected to come in a rectangular cover display. It has the camera, and flash on the cover screen and it is expected to be placed vertically in the top left corner of the device.
Battery and faster charging
As per the leakage details from certification websites, it is suggested that the upcoming smartphone will sport a dual-cell battery setup with a capacity of 4,590mAh. When compared to the predecessor, the device comes with a 15 per cent increase (from a 4,000mAh battery) in the original Phantom V Flip.
The FCC listing also hints that the upcoming device will come with 70W fast charging, which will be another major upgrade, from the 45W supported, available in the current model.
Other specifications: Tentative
Although there are not many details for the upcoming device, it is said that the Phantom V2 Flip is rumoured to come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. So far, there has been no information related to the processor of the device, but it is expected to be an upgrade from the existing MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset which was available in the existing device.
When will the phone officially launch?
Tecno has not yet revealed any details related to the Phantom V2 Flip. As the leaks are surfacing, an official announcement from the company is expected to roll out soon (maybe in a couple of months), unleashing all the relevant details of the device- specifications, availability and pricing.
