PM Modi extends global invitation to AI summit 2023: Check date, timings, and key details

Prime Minister Narendra Modi via LinkedIn extended a global invitation to the GPAI Summit 2023, set to take place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from December 12 to 14.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi via LinkedIn extended a global invitation to the GPAI Summit 2023, set to take place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from December 12 to 14.

"I want to invite you all to a fascinating programme which celebrates strides in AI and innovation - the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence Summit 2023! The summit will begin on 12th December. I am confident you would love being a part of a vibrant platform as this," PM Modi stated in a post on LinkedIn. 

Key Highlights

The summit will feature engaging sessions, including the unmissable AI Expo. Over 150 startups will present their latest innovations in Artificial Intelligence.

India's Leadership

India was elected to the GPAI Council in November 2022. As Lead Chair of GPAI, India is committed to ensuring that the benefits of AI are accessible to all nations. This leadership role enables India to steer technology, particularly AI, towards improving the welfare of people.

"As the Lead Chair of the GPAI, India reaffirms its commitment to harnessing technology, particularly AI, for the welfare of people, ensuring that nations of the Global South are not the last to reap its benefits. India is dedicated to clearing the path for a regulatory framework that ensures Safe and Trusted AI, bringing all nations together for widespread and enduring implementation", PM Modi wrote. 

GPAI: Guiding Responsible AI

"In the field of AI, India is looking to take a giant leap to empower its citizens. Be it serving citizens in their language, be it making education easier and personalised, be it making healthcare more accessible, be it making agriculture more informed, India is using AI for various productive purposes. The world today is witnessing that…", PM Modi added

India, a co-founder of GPAI, has played an important role in guiding the responsible development and use of AI. At the upcoming GPAI summit, India's major contributions since GPAI's establishment in June 2020 will be discussed.
