OnePlus is set to introduce a new battery technology which will be called ‘Glacier Battery’, which promises significant enhancement in the battery life and performance. Developed in collaboration with Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL), the new technology will be officially revealed on June 20 and the company further claims that the Glacier Battery will have the capability to eliminate the need for power banks by providing superior battery with longer life.
With the series of Weibo posts, OnePlus has announced the Glacier Battery technology and it is further stated that it will be unveiled on June 20 at 2:00 PM CST (11:30 AM IST). This next-gen battery technology has been specifically designed for the OnePlus Ace series, which will aim to tackle common issues like frequent battery drain concerns.
The company has described the Glacier Battery as a ‘breakthrough’ in the battery life experience, which could potentially transform the users' interaction with their devices.
OnePlus Ace 3 Pro to be the first smartphone to feature Glacier Battery
As per the insights from the Chinese tech tipster Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro will be the first handset which will be incorporated with the Glacier Battery technology. While the exact release date for the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro is yet to be confirmed, we expect the device to launch soon and will feature around 6,100mAh battery.
This model will further support a 100W fast charging, which is purported to charge the battery from zero to 100% within 30 minutes.
OnePlus Ace 3 Pro: Design and specifications
OnePlus Ace 3 Pro is expected to come in a sleek design with a thickness of around 8mm. This device is likely to set a new standard in smartphone battery technology and as per the leaks and speculations, the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro will feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K resolution 8T LTPO display with a curved edge and a centrally placed hole-punch for the selfie camera.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, the device will boast a metal middle frame with a glass body for enhancing premium look and feel.
Camera
The OnePlus Ace 3 Pro is rumoured to have a triple rear camera setup, incorporating a 50-megapixel primary shooter, an 8-megapixel secondary shooter and a 2-megapixel sensor, for a versatile photography experience. On the front, it has a 16-megapixel shooter.
OnePlus’s Glacier Battery technology is expected to be incorporated in further smartphone models.
