It was on Sunday when PM Narendra Modi said that India will see mega innovations in new technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), thrust on local manufacturing and creating digital public infrastructure (DPI) for the world shortly.
The digital revolution, which will be driven by unified payments interface (UPI) and QR-code-based payments, has reportedly become the biggest tool in the eradication of poverty and showcasing the world powers that DPIs like DigiLocker and Aadhaar number could transform the lives of Indians across the nation.
In a candid conversation PM Modi told Sanjay Pugalia, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of AMG Media Network: "We have the biggest talent pool of youth creating innovative solutions. In AI, India will soon lead the world,”.
The Prime Minister further said that inexpensive data has also helped the country to create world-class solutions for other countries.
PM Modi noted: "The cost of data in India is very cheap compared to the rest of the world. This has led to a digital revolution that eventually helped the poor. Also, over 5 lakh common service centres (CSCs), which are part of the citizen-centric initiatives, have helped crores of people.”
From electric vehicles to a robust startup ecosystem, from mobile to automobile manufacturing, the country is taking concrete steps towards becoming the third-largest economy in the world with a GDP of USD 5 trillion in the next couple of years. Overall, India aims to reach around USD 300 billion in electronics production by FY26.
As PM Modi said about the advancement in 'Made in India' technology, the country has unleashed a new AI tool named 'Hanooman AI' to compete with ChatGPT and Google Gemini AI. 3AI Holding and Seetha Mahalaxmi Healthcare (SML) introduced the new Indian AI tool in February this year (2024), which is based on the Indian Large Language Model (LLM)- which is now available for users. The main highlight of this tool is that it supports 12 Indian regional languages and 98 global languages.
