YouTube launches a new student plan after it had launched its YouTube Music Premium and YouTube Premium for India back in March that was launched at a starting price of Rs 99 per month. The YouTube student plan is Rs 50 cheaper and as part of the new plan, all eligible college students will get discounted access to music and movies that will be ad-free at Rs 59 for YouTube Music Premium and Rs 79 for YouTube Premium.

With YouTube Premium, users will get a membership to YouTube Music Premium that will offer ad-free experience to YouTube Videos and YouTube Originals. The company said that YouTube Music has already crossed 15 million downloads in India.
To get access for the 'Student Plan', user should be a full-time student from an accredited college or university in India.
How to sign-up for YouTube Music Premium student plan-
Users will be required to go to the Student Plan landing page for YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium. Once you reach the page simply select get student plan and type in your college/university on the SheerIS form and if your college is listed, the student plan will be available.
In case the user does not get verified, he will be asked to upload additional documentation to verify the eligibility. The documents will be reviewed manually and the users will be notified via email within 48 hours.
As soon as the eligibility gets confirmed, an additional verification step is required where users will be required to log back into the account that will lead you to select paid memberships that will take you to a notification prompting to finish the signup by choosing the payment method and completing the transaction.
