This has happened after it recently had increased the price of its budget segment Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A smartphones and two Mi LED TVs.
With the drop in the price of the Redmi Note 5 Pro, Xiaomi is due to launch its successor called the Redmi Note 6 Pro on 22nd November in India.

The Mi A2 4GB+64GB model will be available for Rs 15,999, while the top end 6GB+128GB model is now priced at Rs 18,999 that was launched for Rs 19,999. Redmi Y2 also has seen a price cut of Rs 1000, wherein the 4GB+64GB storage will now cost Rs 11,999.
With price cuts on its most popular models, Xiaomi claims that this is context with their philosophy of honest pricing, with only 5 per cent profit on the products. With a reduction in component costs of some of their best-selling phones, the company decided to reduce the prices.
