Google has announced that the Pixel camera app would be coming with an external microphone support. This news has come ahead of the Pixel 3 launch that will take place on Thursday.
Moreso, a Pixel employee said on an old post on Google product that, "At the same time as 'Pixel 3' launch (October 18), we will introduce support for Android-compatible plugged-in external microphones in the default camera app for all Pixels".
Also, the Verge reported on Sunday that the update that incorporates the external microphone support on older Pixel phones would come at the same time as the retail launch of "Pixel 3".
There already are some third-party Android camera apps like Open Camera" that allow external microphones to record audio.
Other than the external microphone support roll out on the Google Pixel phones, the older models too are set to gain many new camera software features.
Google had officially announced its 2018 flagship smartphones, the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL on 9th October.
The Pixel 3 sports a 5.5-inch OLED display and comes with a dual 8MP+8MP front-facing cameras. The smartphone houses a 2915mAh battery and will cost Rs 71,000 for the 64GB variant in India, whereas the Pixel 3 128GB storage variant would cost Rs 80,000. The Pixel 3 XL 64GB variant would cost Rs 83,000 and the 128GB variant price would be Rs 92,000.
