Samsung has launched it's new Galaxy Tab Active2 tablet in India at Rs 50,990. It comes with a military-grade rugged design and comes with built-in durability for tough working environments. The tablet comes equipped with improved touch, rugged S-Pen, biometric authentication, Samsung's security platform as well as Knox to safeguard the sensitive information against hackers and malware. It also comes with pogo pin - a device to connect and charge a group of devices all at once or to easily attach a laptop or a keyboard.
Sukesh Jain, Senior Vice President, IT and Mobile Enterprise Business, Samsung India said, "The Samsung 'Galaxy Tab Active2' addresses many rugged demands and provides a sturdy device that is easy to manage from an IT perspective, and deliver features and accessories specifically designed to improve mobile workflows beyond the scope of typical office use".
The device comes with MIL-STD-810G and IP68 certification and Samsung claims that the device comes with some interesting features like accidental shocks, dust, rain, extreme temperatures and can remain up to 1.5 metres underwater for 30 minutes.
Other features of the Galaxy Tab Active2 include Bluetooth, accelerometer, light proximity, gyroscope, geomagnetic, fingerprint, near-field communication (NFC) capabilities and facial recognition.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active2 tablet can be used in sectors like mining and refinery, manufacturing and construction. Samsung said that the device can also be used to manage and file timecards as well as daily reports from the field, or edit plans and drawings on the spot.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active2 tablet will be available for purchase from mid-March in India.
