Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 10nm processor unveiled, gets 10 per cent improvement in gaming, browsing and more

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC promises 10 per cent better performance across gaming and web browsing. The CPU has been clocked at 2.3GHz compared in comparison to 2.2GHz of the last processor.

Qualcomm has announced its latest processor in the new 700 series called the Snapdragon 712. This will be the successor to the Snapdragon 710 that was launched last year. This chip too is built across the same power-efficient 10nm process technology based on the Kryo 360 architecture backed with Adreno 616 GPU. According to the company, the processor promises 10 per cent better performance across gaming and web browsing. The CPU has been clocked at 2.3GHz compared in comparison to 2.2GHz of the last processor.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 specifications

The Snapdragon 712 comes with an Octa-Core – Dual 2.3GHz Kryo 360 (performance) + Hexa 1.7GHz Kryo 360 (efficiency) CPUs and works on 10nm process technology. 

It gets up to 8GB memory, 2×16 LPDDR4x 1866MHz, eMMC, SD 3.0, USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C, UFS 2.1 hear 3 1-lane and USB 2.0. The chip is backed with Adreno 616 GPU and comes with OpenCL 2.0 Full, DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, Vulkan 1.0 API support. It gets Qualcomm Spectra 250 ISP  that supports up to 32 Megapixel single camera, 20 Megapixel dual camera backed with zero shutter lag along with Hybrid Autofocus, Multi-Frame Noise Reduction (MFNR) featuring accelerated image stabilization, Ultra HD 4K video capture at 30fps, High quality video capture with Motion Compensated Temporal Filtering,  3D structured light and time of flight active depth sensing. The chip supports up to QHD+ (3360×1440) displays with HDR10 and has Qualcomm Hexagon 685 DSP, Qualcomm All-Ways Aware technology.

The Snapdragon 712 chip allows up to 4K Ultra HD Premium playback with up to 4K UltraHD capture @ 30 FPS and 1080p video capture @120 FPS.

The chip also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology and will be available in mobile devices sometime in 2019 first quarter.
