Nokia 8.1 with Snapdragon 710 SoC and 6.18-inch HDR Display launched in India at Rs 26,999

HMD Global has launched the Nokia 8.1 in India at Rs 26,999. It comes with a 6.18-inch PureDisplay with HDR10 support, Snapdragon 710 processor and dual rear camera with Zeiss optics technology.

HMD Global has launched the Nokia 8.1 at an event in Delhi, India. The highlights of the Nokia 8.1 include a 6.18-inch PureDisplay with HDR10 support,  Snapdragon 710 processor, dual rear camera with Zeiss optics technology, Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box and a 3,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

Nokia 8.1 specifications

The Nokia 8.1 comes with a  6.18-inch full-HD+ display with 1080x2244 pixels resolution and 18.7:9 aspect ratio. The display gets 81.5 per cent screen-to-body ratio and has HDR10 support with 500 nits peak brightness and 96 per cent colour gamut.

The phone comes powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC that is clocked at 2.2GHz and comes with 4GB RAM/64GB internal storage that can be expanded to 400GB using a microSD card.

Taking care of the camera department is the dual rear camera setup that comes with a 12 Megapixel camera with 1/2.55-inch sensor, 1.4-micron pixels, EIS, OIS, 2PD (dual photodiode) tech, and a dual-LED flash. The secondary camera includes a 13 Megapixel fixed-focus camera that aids in depth effect. On the front is a 20 Megapixel fixed focus lens with 0.9-micron pixels and 4-in-1 pixel tech for enhanced low-light photography. 

For connectivity, the phone comes with 4G VoLTE, VoWiFi, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v5.0, FM radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C port. It gets sensors as well that include the accelerometer,  digital compass, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor and a fingerprint sensor at the back.

In terms of design, the Nokia 8.1 comes with a two-tone design and is built from 6000-Series aluminium with a diamond cut edge.

The phone is packed with a 3,500mAh battery that delivers 22 hours of talk time and offers 24 days of standby time with 11 hours of video playback. Other features include a smart amp, 2 mics, and Nokia Ozo surround capture.

Nokia 8.1 price in India

The Nokia 8.1 price in India is Rs 26,999 and will be available in colour options of Blue/Silver, Steel/Copper, Iron/Steel and will be available exclusively from Amazon.in and Nokia.com/phones from today. The Nokia 8.1 will go on sale starting December 21.
