HMD Global, the Finnish company that manufactures and sells Nokia smartphones has started rolling out the new Android Pie 9.0 OS for the Nokia 7 Plus smartphones, making it the first device from HMD stable to get Android Pie. This is the ninth major update and the 16th version of the operating system.

The Verge reported on Friday that, "The update is happening in a phased rollout and it will soon expand beyond the first 10 per cent install base. The Nokia 7 Plus is a budget $400 Android phone that's not officially available in the US but mainly targeted toward Asia and India."

Similarly, the Nokia 6.1, which was launched in August will be getting an update soon.

The report also mentioned, "What's notable is that the Nokia 7 Plus will be the first non-Pixel phone to get the Digital Wellbeing features, which shows a dashboard of your phone habits and tracks app time usage."

The new Android Pie comes with many great features, which includes an adaptive battery, better notifications and tweaked navigation.

Other features included in Android Pie are Adaptive Brightness that learns the pattern and tell you how you like to set the brightness in different settings, and also does it for you.
