HTC Vive Focus standalone VR headset now launching worldwide

HTC will make the Vive Focus available in 37 markets across North America and Europe. The company will make the headset available to developers at $600, whereas the enterprise versions at $750.

HTC had revealed the Vive Focus almost a year ago, which was a standalone virtual reality headset. It was powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, but was only limited to the Chinese market.

Now, HTC has finally made an announcement on making the Vive Focus available in other 37 markets across North America and Europe. The company will make the headset available to developers, which will be priced at $600, whereas the enterprise versions will be priced at $750.

Considering the pricing, the Vive Focus is now placed between the original HTC Vive, which is priced at $499 and Vive Pro that comes at $799.

Other than its availability in the US, HTC said that the Vive Enterprise Advantage professional services will be also offered. Some other perks include Advantage and Advantage+ offer tiered services, which includes dedicated support lines, commercial licensing, purchase protection and device management utilities.

In terms of specifications, the Vive Focus uses a single 2800x1600 AMOLED display panel with a 75Hz refresh rate and comes with a 110-degree field of view. It also incorporates an integrated battery, which offers a runtime of 3 hours and can be charged using a USB-C cable. Other features include an integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth along with the wireless controller that supports three degrees of motion.

Although the Vive Focus looks similar to the Oculus Quest, which too is a standalone VR headset but the Vive Focus is more focused at the consumer market.
