The social media giant, Facebook along with Instagram faced global outrage among users as the world faced difficulties in accessing the network. The problem was first noticed on Wednesday night which was persistent on Thursday morning as well. Both Facebook and Instagram took it to Twitter to acknowledge the problem.
The official Twitter handle of Facebook stated in a tweet, "We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible".
Instagram too went on to tweet about the same saying, "We know this is frustrating, and our team is hard at work to resolve this ASAP.”
The topic went trending on Twitter with #FacebookDown and #InstagramDown, as users found difficulty in accessing the websites and logging in to the social media platform.
The facebook crash comes after Google’s e-mail website Gmail and Google Drive had the platform too was facing issues with service disruption.
With Gmail, there were issues in sending emails that also impacted private Gmail and Gmail for enterprise users with the company account.
According to a report by The Verge, some of the services on the social media platform appear to have been restored but some users had reported issues on sending messages on Facebook Messenger along with issues of not being able to post feed on all Facebook-owned products like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. In fact, Facebook's Oculus VR too had issues in context to the outage.
