Apple has apologised after its latest MacBook keyboards still has problems using the third-party butterfly keyboard on MacBooks and MacBook Pro models, even when Apple launched a fresh batch of laptops last year that had redesigned keyboards.

Users have faced unexpected problems with the butterfly keyboards that showed a repetition of letters while typing with unresponsive keys and sticky keys, along with letters not appearing.

MacRumors quoted an Apple spokesperson as saying on Wednesday, that the company was aware that a small number of users were facing issues with their third-generation butterfly keyboard and were sorry for the issue.

The new MacBooks and MacPro keyboards were designed by the iPhone-maker that incorporated the mechanism to distribute the pressure on a single key evenly that thus increased the precision in typing.

The report added that although Apple initiated a service programme offering free repairs in the affected 2015-17 MacBook and 2016-17 MacBook Pro models with first- and second-generation butterfly keyboards, the new 2018 MacBook Pro and 2018 MacBook Air models with third-generation butterfly keyboards still don't qualify at this time. Moreso, the company hasn't disclosed any rectification plans for the faulty devices.
