In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Anwar Raajhaa. A from AIADMK won the seat and was polled 405,945 votes with a vote share of 40.54%. DMK candidate Mohamed Jaleel.s got 286,621 votes (28.63 %) and was the runner-up.Anwar Raajhaa. A defeated Mohamed Jaleel.s by a margin of 119,324 votes.
