In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Radhakrishnan P. from BJP won the seat and was polled 372,906 votes with a vote share of 37.62%. INC candidate Vasantha Kumar H. got 244,244 votes (24.64 %) and was the runner-up.Radhakrishnan P. defeated Vasantha Kumar H. by a margin of 128,662 votes.
