Paris, Oct 31: Caroline Wozniacki was confirmed on Monday as the end-of-year number one in women's tennis for the second consecutive season.
The Dane, who has yet to win a Grand Slam, amassed 7485 points to leave Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic down in second place.
Kvitova's victory over Belarusian Victoria Azarenka in the final of Sunday's WTA championships in Istanbul allowed her to move up one place and finish on 7370 pts.
Azarenka also moved up a place after the final event of the WTA season, to third, to finish on 6520.
Russia's Maria Sharapova meanwhile dropped two places to fourth after her retirement from the Championships through injury.
