New Delhi: Win and loss are a part of sportsman, no matter what sport you play. Some sportsman make hard effort to learn lessons from their defeats whereas some learn from their wins to perform better. And players get brutal punishments as well if they perform dismall by the coach.
A teenage tennis player, Ioana Andrada Surdeanu was punished by her coach-father after she lost a match. Andrada Surdeanu was left with a bleeding nose after her coach-father slapper her twice when she lost the match.
Surdeanu was crashed out of a girls' tournament in Israel.
A 16-year-old tennis star had reached the quarter final of the International Tennis Federation Tournament, was slapped twice and one of the slaps hit her nose and she was left bleeding.
After the incident, the umpires called the police who arrested her father at the tennis court. But Andrada Surdeanu defended her coach-father Lucian Surdeanu said 'I didn't play well in that match. At the end, he went to confiscate my phone. That's the way he punishes me when it is my fault and I don't win matches. I was annoyed and I threw the phone at him and said "take it".
'He maybe exaggerated a little, but he didn't deserve to be arrested. I'm worried for him. I want to continue this journey in tennis with the support of the whole family.
The tennis star says, 'My father is not a beast, he didn't break my nose, I didn't have my face covered in blood. It's true, he slapped me. But so what? I deserved it.
Surdeanu says, my father didn't catch the phone and he got angry because of the way I've behaved. He pushed me and slapped me twice. One of the slaps hit my nose.
'It was my fault because I've yelled and said some bad words to him. I was irresponsible after all the sacrifices he made for me. I admit that I was scared in that moment he hit me, but I know he regrets what he did and he loves me as much as I love him.
Reportedly, Surdeanu has been fined £237 and has returned to Romania.
