St. Petersburg: Sixth-seeded Ernests Gulbis won his fourth career title on Sunday by rallying to beat Guillermo Garcia-Lopez of Spain 3-6, 6-4, 6-0 in the final of the St. Petersburg Open on Sunday.
After an exchange of breaks in the opening games, the 74th-ranked Garcia-Lopez broke the Latvian twice to win the first set.
Garcia-Lopez took a 4-1 lead in the second but Gulbis, who struggled with his serve in the first set, won five consecutive games to level the match. He then dominated the decisive set and served a winner to seal the victory on his first match point.
The 36th-ranked Gulbis was playing in his second final since winning his third title in Delray Beach in February.
Garcia-Lopez was looking for his third title. He last won in 2010 in Bangkok.
