Sydney: Australian Marinko Matosevic continued his good form at the Apia International Sydney 2014, ousting third seed Italian Andreas Seppi in the second round Wednesday.
The World No.56 recorded a straight set win over the 25th-ranked Seppi 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the quarterfinals, reports Xinhua.
Matosevic will now play Ukrainian Sergiy Stakhovsky, who beat French sixth seed Julien Benneteau 6-3, 6-2.
"To get a win over Andreas is a big confidence booster," Matosevic told reporters following his victory.
"I'm trying to get my serve better and play tennis on my terms," he said.
