New York, Sept 12: Britain's Oliver Golding won the U.S. Open boys title with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 victory over top-seeded Jiri Vesely of the Czech Republic on Sunday.
Golding, the No. 13 seed, had four set points in the first but couldn't close it out, forcing him to play 2 hours, 18 minutes to get the victory.
The 17-year-old from London said he was not sure if he would move out of juniors or stay there for the rest of the year to try to secure the No. 1 ranking.
Golding joins fellow British star Andy Murray as a U.S. Open junior winner. Murray won in 2004. AP
