Beijing, Sept 3: Caroline Wozniacki rallied from a set down to beat Lucie Hradecka of Czech Republic 3-6, 6-0, 7-5 Monday at the China Open.
The top-ranked Dane struggled at the start against the big-serving Czech. But Wozniacki improved in the second set as Hradecka's first serves increasingly hit the net.
Also, Zheng Jie of China defeated Alberta Brianti of Italy 4-6, 6-1, 7-5, while Marin Cilic of Croatia defeated Di Wu of China 6-2, 6-0 and Feliciano Lopez of Spain beat Marsel Ilhan of Turkey 6-2, 7-6 (6) in the men's tournament. AP
