Wolverhampton, Sep 10: Emmanuel Adebayor scored on his Tottenham debut Saturday to help Spurs earn their first Premier League win over the season with a 2-0 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Adebayor made his first start since joining on loan from Manchester City and opened the scoring midway through the second half after collecting a pass from fellow Tottenham newcomer Scott Parker.
Jermain Defoe doubled their lead after playing a one-two with Niko Kranjcar before drilling a low shot past goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp made five changes from the side beaten 5-1 at home by Manchester City, with defender Ledley King making his first start of the campaign in place of the injured Michael Dawson. AP
