Bridgeview (Illinois), May 10: Real Salt Lake moved to the top of the Major League Soccer standings with a 0-0 draw at Chicago Fire on Wednesday.

Salt Lake moved a point ahead of Western Conference rivals San Jose and Seattle.

The visitors had stand-in goalkeeper Kyle Reynish to thank for the point, as he made two key saves.

Reynish, seeing his first action of the season, started with regular keeper Nick Rimando sidelined by a right shoulder injury. Reynish made a difficult save on Dominic Oduro in the sixth minute, and ranged to his left to stop Marco Pappa's hard 16-yarder with 5 minutes remaining.

Rimando is expected back for Saturday's big game against Seattle.

DALLAS 0, SEATTLE SOUNDERS 2

In Frisco, Texas, Fredy Montero scored twice in a 3-minute span to lead Seattle to its fifth consecutive victory, defeating Dallas.

Dallas controlled much of the game for the first 68 minutes, until Montero maneuvered around two defenders and shot just inside the right post from 15 yards.

Montero's second goal came in the 71st minute from close range.

Dallas is winless in its past five games.

NEW YORK RED BULLS 1, HOUSTON DYNAMO 0

In Harrison, New Jersey, Kenny Cooper scored his eighth goal of the season as injury-riddled New York beat Houston for its third-straight 1-0 victory.

Cooper scored in the seventh minute. He got the ball inside the box, but lost it to a Houston defender who tried to tap it back to goaltender Tally Hall. Cooper beat Hall to it and easily put it past him.

Houston ended a seven-game trip as they prepare to open their new stadium.
