Milan, Jun27: AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari says he will return to football before January after undergoing knee surgery.
Muntari had surgery last week to reconstruct the cruciate ligament in his left knee and Milan said he will be out for around six months.
When asked if he will return in January, Muntari says, “before, before ... I know my body and how it will react, I'll be back very soon.”
Muntari revealed the injury happened when he was playing football with friends and adds that Milan vice president Adriano Galliani “is right to be angry ... in any case the club has supported me and will wait for me.”
Muntari has impressed since joining Milan in January on loan from rival Inter Milan. Milan signed Kevin Constant from Genoa on loan to replace Muntari.
