Shillong, Dec 7: Langsning Football Club (LFC) of Meghalaya defeated robust Punjab Police (PP) with skills, speed and stamina by 6-1 at the ongoing 22nd All India Meghalaya Invitation Football Tournament at the Polo Ground here today.

The game witnessed long passes by Punjab Police, while experienced Langsning Football Club was more tactical exhibiting skillful passes including aggressive attack and defence.

Right from the start, Punjab Police were on the attacking mood, conserving no energy for the final touch.  LFC's Samuel Kane Arhu scored the first goal in the 21st minute of the game. Lobbed by one of the forwards from the left flank into the goal box, Arhu placed the ball through the empty space right into the opponents' net to enthuse his team mates with 1-0.

PP's goalkeeper Paramjit Singh was all the time under pressure from the LFC forwards.

He made a wonder save delivered by a powerful shot from LFC's Sanjay Chetri to keep his teammates going. PP's goalkeeper, however, made a miscalculation to enable LFC's Badru Keke Ibrahim to place the ball right into the net to add to LFC's coffer by 2-0.

Before the opponents could retaliate, LFC's Yinka Joel Sunday Ayeni scored the third goal in the 40th minute of the game to make it 3-0 followed by another goal scored by LFC's Victor Shadap in the 45th minute to make it 4-0.

PP's forward, robust and hefty Amandeep Batra who spared no energy throughout the game scored a goal against LFC in the 68th minute of the game bringing the tally to 4-1.

Again LFC's Victor Shadap scored another goal in the 72nd minute after dribbling through PP's defenders to increase the tally to 5-1 and LFC's Sanjay Chetri sealed the victory for the home team, when he scored a goal in the 85th minute of the game to ensure victory for Langsning Football Club over Punjab Police by 6-1.
