Tokyo, June 4: Host Japan has been drawn alongside Mexico, Switzerland, and New Zealand for the Under-20 Women's World Cup.
Japan will play its opening Group A match against Mexico on Aug. 19 and faces New Zealand three days later at Sendai's Miyagi Stadium in a show of support for the victims of last year's earthquake and tsunami.
The United States was pitted against defending champion Germany, China and Ghana in Group D.
Brazil was drawn in Group B with South Korea, Italy, and Nigeria while Group C includes North Korea, Canada, Norway and Argentina.
The Aug. 19-Sept. 8 tournament is the first FIFA-sanctioned women's competition to be held in Japan.
