Margao, Nov 1: Riding high on their two consecutive wins, Dempo is going to face the real test at home tomorrow when they face Kolkata's Mohun bagan in the third round of the I-League, played at Nehru Stadium in Fatorda here.
Both the teams have won both their opening encounters and Dempo who beat Mumbai FC handsomely after getting the better of Salgaocar in the opening encounter, have a better goal difference against Bagan to place themselves at the top of the table.
The match is going to be a cracker as both the teams will try to get the better of each other and keep their winning momentum going.
All the four goans clubs are organizing their respective matches, have kept the spectators on their feet with off the field entertaintment before and during interval of the match which saw increased attendance in the last two times. Dempo is expecting more crowd tomorrow to cheer their team.
Dempo's defence has put up a solid performance in both the matches and with their midfield also looking creative which saw them creating lot of goal scoring chances especially against Mumbai FC, their only concern is that their strikers have not able to utilise the chances which came their way.
Coach Armando Colaco who is going to field the same team tomorrow is hoping Koko Sakibo and Joaquim Abranches to come up with decent performance.
Ranty Martins who is in sublime form scored goals in both the matches to take his tally to three goals and Colaco is looking upto him to fire all cylinder at Bagan citadel to secure a win.
"I am happy the way the team is playing. I was little apprehensive at the beginning of the I-League as the team was not doing well but the win against Salgaocar in the opening match has put the team's back on the track and tomorrow I am hoping they play the same way they have done in the last two matches and utilise the half chances that come their way," Colaco said.
Bagan who are high after their two successive win, arrived here yesterday evening without their two key players-Odafe Okolie and Jose Baretto who are nursing injuries.
"Its a huge set back for the team as we play against a formidable side but we have to take things in our strides and look forward. We have good replacement, Ashim Biswas will mostly likely partner Sunil Chettri upfront in absence of Odafe. I have watched Dempo's both the matches, they have good defence, midfield and a good striker. They also have the home advantage."
"We are prepared for the high voltage contest and hoping that our team play to their potential and win tomorrow," stated Prasant Banerjee, Bagan's coach.
