Sao Paulo, Jul 20: Carlos Tevez's proposed move back to his former club Corinthians has fallen through.
Corinthians says in a statement the deal for the Manchester City striker has not been done as “more time is needed for the transfer to be achieved, given that the window to sign players from abroad closes on Wednesday, July 20.”
The Argentina striker said earlier this month that he wanted to leave the Premier League club after two seasons to be closer to his family.
The Brazilian club says “we are aware of the dream our fans had of having this player at Corinthians again and we look forward to him being with us in the near future.”
Corinthians could likely try to sign Tevez in January's Premier League transfer window. AP
