London, May 9: Blackburn has reportedly fired its deputy chief executive after a letter he sent five months ago warning the club's owners of its likely relegation from the Premier League was made public.
Sky Sports News says that Paul Hunt has been fired by Indian poultry firm Venky's.
British newspapers reproduced a letter from Hunt to Venky's after it was apparently leaked to a website.
Hunt correctly predicted that the team was sliding toward relegation and made a list of 10 recommendations that included firing manager Steve Kean because of his unpopularity with players and allowing directors to run the club from Britain.
Blackburn was relegated to the second-tier League Championship on Monday, 18 months after Venky's bought the club.
