Zurich, Jan 10: Pep Guardiola has been named the world's best coach in 2011 after guiding Barcelona to five trophies including the Champions League, Spanish and Club World Cup.
Guardiola won the FIFA honor ahead of Real Madrid's Jose Mourinho and Alex Ferguson of Manchester United.
Earlier at FIFA's annual awards ceremony, Norio Sasaki won the award for best coach of a women's team. He guided Japan to the 2011 Womens's World Cup.
Pia Sundhage of the United States, the beaten finalist, and France's Bruno Bini were also voted onto the shortlist.
Votes were cast by national team coaches and captains, plus invited journalists.
