Mumbai, May 24: Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan presented the Indian Football Awards 2013 hosted by Football Players Association of India at a glittering evening yesterday at Bombay Gymkhana. Also present was Neha Dhupia.
Baichung Bhutia, Rahul Bose and Dino Morea also attended. The awards were based on votes collected from players participating in the I-League. Mohammed Rafique of Prayag, Alwyn George and Holicharan Narzary of Pailan Arrows, Bikramjit Singh of Churchill Brothers and Lalrindika Ralte of East Bengal finished among the top five.
Surprisingly, among the runners for Young Player of the Year, Manandeep Singh's name was missing. Manandeep Singh had won this award last year. He is now playing for East Bengal.
In his speech, Abhishek Bachchan said, he looks forward to the day when the Indian team would qualify for the World Cup finals.
