Last season was not as memorable as it would have been with Pep Guardiola's first season in-charge, but by splurging the green here and there and the Spaniard has made his own FC Barcelona in Manchester City. City became the first English Premier League (EPL) club to score over 100 goals in a calendar year since Liverpool achieved the feat in 1982.
This season has shown an entirely different City, not like the one where Pelligrini helped the Blues lift the league cup in 2014, but a rampant and consistent City who have demolished every team in their way so far. The top six have stood no chance as Guardiola is back in business and already it seems like the Premier League is over as the gap between the first and second spot which reserved by neighbours Manchester United is 13 points.
City continued their dominant ways as they routed Bournemouth 4-0 with Sergio Aguero's brace and goals from Sterling and new signing Danilo helped Manchester City register over 100 goals in the ongoing EPL season on Saturday. The win also helped the Pep Guardiola managed side register their 17th consecutive victory.
The Guardiola effect has taken over the Premier League this season as City look rampant enough to clinch the league title and aim the UEFA Champions League as well. The only team who have also not yet lost a game is Guardiola's former club which he won the treble with, FC Barcelona.
Manchester United are still in the race despite dropping points with their draw against Leicester City. Which club is capable of handing Guardiola his first loss this season?. Surprisingly Everton came close but drew City with Sterling saving the day in the dying minutes of the match.
City next face Newcastle United on December 28.
