A day after AS Roma confirmed that they have reached an agreement to rope in Brazillian striker Malcom for a fee of 38 million pounds, Barcelona made a last-minute bid and brought the Bordeaux player to Camp Nou directly.
The 21-year-old, who was expected to arrive in Rome for the completion of the deal, reportedly, did not travel, following Barcelona's late bid. It was reported that the striker was a flight away from signing for the Romans, however, a last minute call saw Malcom on the flight to Barcelona.
Roma, on Tuesday, announced that the Brazil striker and the club had a mutual agreement, however, the Catalan giants hijacked their deal with a last minute deal.
The attacking midfielder was at the radar of many football clubs including Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain, but they were defeated by Roma's lucrative deal.
Barcelona signed Malcom for 36.5 Million Pounds
Following the rising interest of all the clubs, the Bordeaux forward, reportedly, increased the asking price to 40 million pounds.
