FIFA U-17 World Cup: Make us proud, Virat Kohli tells India team

The skipper took to Twitter to support the boys in blue on their journey in the grandest stage of all, the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

India's cricket captain Virat Kohli has extended his best wishes for the young Indian colts who are participating in the FIFA U-17 World Cup which is being held in India for the first time. The skipper took to Twitter to support the U-17 team in their journey in the grandest stage of all, the FIFA U-17 World Cup. 

India face tough competition in the group matches as they take on USA, Ghana and Columbia. India will commence their first match against USA on October 6 which will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Leading the path for the Indian team is Amarjit Singh Kiyam as the young boys in blue will look to do their country proud as the nation backs the young colts in creating history. Even Prime Minister Modi extended his wishes and support towards the sport and requests the nation to back the boys in blue as the players have the home advantage.  

Needless to say that the Indian cricket team recently defeated Australia to win the ODI series 4-1. Virat Kohli and co. will now face the Steve Smith led Australians in a three-match T20 series which will begin on October 7.

The list of the 21 selected players follows below:

Defenders: Boris Singh, Jitendra Singh, Anwar Ali, Sanjeev Stalin, Hendry Antonay, Namit Deshpande

Midfielders: Suresh Singh, Ninthoinganba Meetei, Amarjit Singh Kiyam, Abhijit Sarkar, Komal Thatal, Lalengmawia, Jackson Singh, Nongdamba Naorem, Rahul Kannoly Praveen, Md. Shahjahan

Forwards: Rahim Ali, Aniket Jadhav
