The star Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant has asked fans to support Neeraj Chopra in the final and has announced prizes for the supporters. 

In a qualification round on August 6, Indian contenders Neeraj Chopra and Kishore Jena were slotted into two different groups.

Kishore struggled to impress and finished ninth in his group with a best attempt of 80.73 meters.

Neeraj stunned everyone by recording a sensation 89.34-meter throw in his first and only attempt, and easily topped the standings among 30 contenders.

The world no.1 Jakub Vadlejch registered 85.63 meters in his first attempt to secure final qualification. German star Julian Weber registered an 87.76-meter throw to finish thrid and the two-time world champion Anderson Peters recorded 87.76 meters to finish just behind Neeraj.
