Know hot Charlie Webster, the first female presenter of boxing coverage in TV history

New Delhi: Charlie Webster will make TV history this weekend by becoming the first woman to present coverage of a world title boxing bout. The Sky Sports News presenter and amateur boxer will host Eurosport's broadcast of Wladimir Klitschko's heavyweight title defence against Samoan challenger Alex Leapai in Oberhausen, Germany. Although Webster, who is also known for her long-distance runs for charity, has previously been a pundit and a ringside reporter at boxing events, but this is the first time she has anchored a live broadcast. One of her biggest challenges on Saturday night will be to keep tabs on pundit Tyson Fury, who is expected to call Klitschko out live on air. 'I'm really proud to be the first woman to present a big night of boxing,' Webster said. 'This is something I've wanted to do all the time I've been a boxing fan. I've been a ringside reporter on Sky for Prizefighter and for two of Kell Brook's fights, but to be the anchor is an amazing opportunity. 'Traditionally, boxing has been such an engrained male dominated sport and that's been the same in broadcasting. But that's changing.' Webster believes Klitschko's superior physical stature and experience will swing the fight in his favour.'Looking at the stats, Klitschko has a six inch height advantage and a six inch longer reach. Boxing is just one of Webster's many presenting talents. She has fronted coverage of everything from football to World Superbikes to the Red Bull Air Race across a number of channels. The Sheffield-born broadcaster is best known for bringing breaking sports headlines to millions of fans on Sky Sports News and increasingly for completing extraordinary challenges for a good cause. At the end of January, she ran 250 miles in just seven days, visiting 40 football clubs between Liverpool and London to raise funds and awareness for national domestic violence charity Women's Aid.
