Monza, Italy: Force India drivers Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg will start 10th and 14th respectively at Sunday's Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix at the Autodromo di Monza here.
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton took pole Saturday from teammate Nico Rosberg while Valtteri Bottas of Williams will start third at the historic 5.7 km circuit.
Mexican driver Perez made it into Q3 but could only manage to finish 10th while teammate Hulkenberg could not get out of Q2 and had to be content with 14th position. However, the German is expected to start 13th following a grid penalty for another driver.
“We can be happy about this result. P9 could have been possible but I feel we nearly maximised our potential and that's all we could have asked from this session," said Perez.
"Looking at our performance yesterday, our race pace should be strong but there are not that many options to choose from with the strategy. We are in a good position to have a strong race. Anything can happen on this track and I am confident we can pick up good points.”
