New Delhi: Sportspersons on the rolls of energy major ONGC won six medal for India at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games at Glasgow.


ONGCians won one Gold, three silver and two bronze, the company said in a statement here.

Its 20 sportspersons were part of the Indian contingent that participated in the Games.

ONGC Chairman and Managing Director D K Sarraf along with Directors felicitated the players here today.

A cash incentive of Rs 5 lakh was given to wrestler Amit Kumar who won Gold medal in men's 57 kg category. Cash incentive of Rs 2.25 lakh each was given to Ashwini Ponnappa, who bagged Silver medal in women's doubles and Anthony Amalraj, who brought Silver in men's Table Tennis doubles.

Hockey stars Gurvinder Singh Chandi and Akashdeep Singh were given cash incentives of Rs 1.5 lakh each for the Silver Medal they fetched India.

Pawan Kumar received Rs 2 Lakh for winning Bronze in wrestling (86kg category) and Arpinder Singh received Rs 2 lakh for his Bronze medal in Triple jump.
