"The Indian Olympic Association has requested the players of the Indian contingent at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games to not spend much time in public places because of the threat of COVID-19, which can jeopardize the health and participation of the players," the IOA said in a statement.
India a contingent of 321 members which includes 215 athletes and 107 officials.
Lovlina's coach receives accreditation one day after controversy
This news came after the Olympics medallist Lovlina alleged mental harassment and problems in her training ahead of the multi-nation event which is scheduled to start on the 28th of July.
"Sandhya was brought to the boxing village today morning and given accreditation. She is with the team now," an Indian Olympics Association (IOA)official said.
Neeraj Chopra ruled out
Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has sustained a groin injury and he will have to pull out of the multi-nation event
The 24-year-old Javelin thrower was set to be India's flag-bearer during Thursday's opening ceremony but now that Chopra is injured and not participating, India will have to station someone new to do the honors.
