Wishes are pouring in from every nook and corner of India for the woman of the moment PV Sindhu who has made the country proud after overpowering Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara yesterday in semi-finals of Women’s singles badminton event in Rio assuring a medal for India.
Indian test cricket captain Virat Kohli is surely not to be left behind as the maverick cricketer has sent a recorded message to the World No. 10 shuttler ahead of her final clash in the Rio Games.
The 21-year-old will now face world No. 1 left-hander Carolina Marin (Spain) in the final on Friday at 7:30 pm for a Gold medal.
“Hi PV Sindhu, I congratulate you for guaranteeing India its first silver medal at (Rio) Olympics. You made the country so so proud. Tommorrow it is going to be an epic battle. It is going to be an epic clash,” says kohli via video message.
The Hyderabad girl used her aggression to win the big points in the game.
He also said, “So, I wish you all the best, all the way from here in the West Indies. I hope you bring gold for the country but nonetheless whatever happens you are a champion. And I send you all the power and all the wishes Good Luck to you. Jai Hind.”
Carolina Marin has been in great form and she is naturally fast. She has a team headed by coach Fernando Rivas, a master strategist, in her corner.
Being left-handed is an advantage and that she can return from anywhere on the court at a speed which doesn’t allow opponents enough time to recover cements her style on court.
India’s head coach Anil Kumble too extended her blessings to Sindhu via Twitter and wished her on behalf of the Indian team, from Port of Spain.
Former batting legend Virender Sehwag, who has amazed us with his impeccable timing on the pitch, is now winning hearts with his tweets and he tweeted for Sindhu:
From Prime minister Narendra Modi to bollywood celebs, all hailed Sindhu’s achievements.
