PV Sindhu is one win away from a historic gold medal as she faces  Spain’s Carolina Marin in the final of the Rio Olympics 2016 today.

The Spanish shuttler won the second set with a comfortable 21-12

Sindhu was earlier trailing behind the world no. 1 but made strong come back winning the first set 21-19.

After her semifinal win over Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara, whom she had lost to as recently as February this year, the 21-year-old Hyderabad native promised she was aiming to go all the way.

Today she can become the second Indian ever, male or female, to win an individual Olympic gold.

It is going to be an epic battle as World no.1 Marin is also eyeing her first Gold medal. She couldn’t make it past the group stages at the London Olympics.
