New Delhi: Indian Women Hockey team scored twice in each half as they defeated higher ranked China 4-2 in their opening match of the 3rd Asian Women Champions Trophy at Kakamigahara, Japan today.
Poonam Rani scored first goal for India in the 8th minute by converting penalty corner. Five minutes later Amandeep Kaur scored field goal on her debut international.
In the 59th minute, Poonam Rani scored another field goal with a perfect pass from Namita Toppo.
The fourth goal for India came in the 61st minute when Vandana deflected the ball into the net.
India will play their next match against Malaysia on Nov 4.
