New Delhi: Newly appointed captain of the Indian Hockey Team, PR Sreejesh is grateful for the opportunity to lead the boys in the Olympics this year.
In an exclusive interview with India TV, the goalkeeper captain shared his happiness. He said, "Although we keep rotating captainship in the major tournaments, but I am extremely happy to get a chance to lead the team in Rio Olympics. It is a dream for every Hockey player."
On being asked how he will go about his new role, he said, "Nothing much has changed. My first priority will be to stop the ball from going into the nets."
"I'll increase my communication with the players when on the field and will be giving my best," he added.
India are scheduled to play Ireland in their opening match of the Olympics.
"Our focus will be to take one match at a time. The key is to win as many matches in the pool stage to be in a good position amongst the top four teams to play in the quarter-final," Sreejesh said.
