Cristiano Ronaldo was inconsolable as he broke down in tears following his side Al Nassr's heartbreaking loss in the King's Cup final against Al Hilal. Ronaldo, who individually had a splendid season with Al Nassr, scoring 35 goals in the Saudi Pro League, which is now a record, ended it trophyless as Al Hilal won 5-4 on penalties in the summit clash.
Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou was Al-Hilal's hero with two saves, with the last one being decisive. Ronaldo took the second shot for Al Nassr and expectedly on target but the Al Hilal were just relentless and they just didn't miss. Al Hilal kicked off the scoring in just the 7th minute of the game with Alexander Mitrovic getting through the nets and maintained the lead for the better part of the match.
It seemed like that early goal had sealed it for Al Hilal before Ahman Yahya netted in the 87th minute for Al Nassr to give his side some late hope of a comeback. The match went into stoppage time and the 30-minute period remained goalless for it to go through penalties and Al Hilal prevailed in the end eventually.
It showed how much a trophy meant to Ronaldo as he just couldn't control his emotions. His teammates and support staff gathered around him to console but he couldn't. Watch the video here:
